3 Tips for Caring for Your ClearCorrect Adult Braces

ClearCorrect is an invisible teeth-straightening option provided by your dentist that works by using a series of customized removable aligners. In order to achieve the best possible results with ClearCorrect, you need to be sure to take good care of the trays. Here are some simple tips on caring for your ClearCorrect adult braces:

Clean Your Braces
Improper cleaning of your ClearCorrect braces can lead to significant damage. Rinse your aligners with warm water after each removal, and wash them daily. When washing, do not use toothpaste to scrub your liners, as this will scratch them. Instead, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and dish soap, and gently rub the inside and outside of your liners. Be sure to thoroughly rinse your braces out a second time to completely remove the soap.

Practice Good Dental Hygiene
As with any type of braces, maintaining good dental hygiene is essential. Since ClearCorrect braces are removable, they allow for better dental hygiene than traditional braces. Take advantage of this by brushing your teeth twice daily and flossing daily. Rinsing with a mouthwash recommended by your dentist is another great way to prevent plaque and bacteria buildup while you’re wearing your liners.

Remove the Aligners When Necessary
You should never eat with your aligners in. Not only can food get stuck on or inside them, creating a breeding ground for bacteria, but they can also become stained. Remove your trays every time you eat, even for snacks. You should also remove your braces before drinking staining liquids, such as red wine or grape juice.
