Tips for Proper Flossing

Cute girl cleaning teeth by floss

In order for you to have healthy teeth and gums, you should brush your teeth at least twice every day and floss on a daily basis. Many people brush their teeth but neglect to floss, thinking that it’s not that important or just not worth the time. Flossing is just as important as brushing, and doesn’t have to take much time out of your schedule. Choose a flavor of floss that you like, and use about 18 inches with the ends wound around each middle finger. Slide the floss gently up and down between your teeth, going carefully underneath the gum line on each pass. Don’t force the floss or snap it, as this can damage your gums. Unwind a new section of floss as you move between teeth, and use the same back and forth motion to remove the floss.
